Phillip Jerome Hill, 73, of Terre Haute, Indiana, went to his eternal home with the Lord on October 10, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. Phillip was born in Paragould, Arkansas, to Ruth Helen and Calvin Alphis Hill.
Phillip loved the Lord with all his heart, and his faith in Jesus was a special and treasured part of who he was. He loved to worship by playing the organ or singing praises to the Lord. His life was a beautiful reminder that love, faith, and joy are not measured by circumstances, but by the heart. Through his genuine faith and the love he shared with those around him, Phillip touched the lives of many and reminded others of the beauty of trusting in Jesus.
One of Phillip’s proudest accomplishments was earning first place in the state in Special Olympics bowling. This achievement reflected his determination and gave his family a special memory to celebrate for years to come. In his younger years, Phillip worked seasonally at R&R Discount, where he had the opportunity to work and be a part of his community.
Above all, Phillip was deeply loved by his family. He held a special place in the hearts of those who knew him, and his life was a blessing to those around him.
Phillip is survived by his brothers, Alphis Hill (Violet) and James Hill (Joanne); his sister, Carol Auler; and his brother-in-law, Robert Schimmel.
He leaves behind a very special niece, Christina Yancey (John), who lovingly cared for him. Christina held a very special place in Phillip’s life, and the love and devotion she showed him was a true reflection of her heart. Along with his nieces and nephews Michael Hill, Michael Reed, Amber Casey (Jason), Ryan Hill (Melanie), Linzy Raley (Clint), Jimmy Hill (Jamie), John Hill (Trish), Cordia Auler, and Ronnie Auler.
Phillip is also survived by his great-nieces and great-nephews Evan Barton (Samantha), Dustin Yancey, Chelsi Whitson (Derek), Briar Hill (Chelsea), Kayla Aikers, Addyson Casey, Jameson Casey, Addilynn Edington, Ainsley Edington, Paisley Hill, Caroline Hill, Grant Raley, Leah Raley, Sophie Raley, Karsyn Firestone (Reed), Landree Hill, Addisyn Hill, Mikayla Hill, Skyler Hill, Douglas Hanna, Cordia Auler, Destiney Raley, Vanessa Butt, Ronnie Auler III, Xychus Auler.

Phillip was preceded in death by his mother, Ruth Hill; father, Calvin Hill; his sister, Mary Ellen Schimmel; his nephews, Jason Hill, Jay Lee Betz, Tyler Jackson, and William Reed; and his brother-in-law, Ronald Auler.
Although Phillip will be deeply missed by all who loved him, his family finds comfort in knowing that he is now in the presence of his Savior and reunited with loved ones who went before him. His legacy of faith, love, perseverance, and joy will continue to live on in the hearts of those he leaves behind.
Until they meet again in Heaven, may Phillip’s life serve as a reminder to love deeply, celebrate every victory, find joy in life’s blessings, and trust the Lord wholeheartedly.
