Phyllis Akers

Phyllis Jean Akers, 90, of Terre Haute, Indiana, passed away on April 11, 2026. She was born near Paris Illinois on November 22, 1935, to Clarence Knight and Susan (Bemis) Knight. She was proceeded in death by her parents; and husband, Bill Akers; sons Gayle Parksey and Bruce Parksey; grandsons Jake Parksey and Heath Parksey; brother, Clayton Knight; sister, Charlotte Stewart; and brother-in-law Gerald Stewart. Phyllis is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Wayne and Phyllis Parksey; daughter-in-law Debbie Parksey; stepchildren Ruth Akers, Debbie Drummy (John), Bob Akers (Trisha); several grandkids; sister Colette Johnson (Dennis); and great grandkids with special family, Theresa Morson and Brianna Frank. Funeral services are scheduled for Thursday, April 16, 2026, at 1:00p.m. in Mattox-Wood Funeral Home, 4660 Lafayette Avenue, Terre Haute, Indiana 47805. Pastor Larry Spear will officiate. Burial will follow in Bethesda Cemetery in West Terre Haute, Indiana. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Thursday, from 11:00a.m. until service time.
