

Raymond Kenneth Trissel, age 59, of Terre Haute, Indiana passed away on Friday, April 22, 2022. Ray was born September 15, 1962 in Houston, Texas to Daniel Joseph Trissel, Sr. and Rosaland Kirby Trissel.
He was a graduate of Helena High School in Helena, Montana. After high school, he followed his father into the US Army. Ray was awarded a Green Beret, serving in the 5th Special Forces. He also served the state of Montana in the Montana National Guard. In 2004 Ray's unit was called back into active duty for Operation Iraqi Freedom, where they were stationed in Balad, Iraq. In 2009, he was medically retired from the US Army, after serving 32 years.
Ray had a love for not only his country, but his family, and community. He was a ordained Pastor, and served along with his wife Renetta, at Grace Temple Church. Together Ray and Renetta founded Spotted Horse Ministries in 2008.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother Calvin Wright; and a sister Vivian Mertz.
Surviving is his loving wife of 25 years, Renetta; his children, Thomas Klotz, III and wife Joanie, Shawn Klotz and wife Danielle, and Amanda Brensdal and husband Greg; a brother, Danny Silverthorn; eleven grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of Ray's Life with Military Honors will be held on Wednesday, June 8, 2022 at 6 PM at Hoosier Spots Ranch, 6310 East Trout Avenue, Terre Haute, with Bishop Murray Galloway officiating. Family and friends are invited to share their memories of Ray during the Celebration. A Texas style BBQ will follow the celebration.
Memorials in Ray's name may be shared with the Wounded Warriors Project.
