Richard was a supervisor for CSX railroad and retired after 40 years of service. Before the railroad, Richard served in Army during WW II and was honorably discharged. He was a member of the American Legion and the VFW.
Richard is survived by his lifelong companion of 65 years Charlotte and his son Jeffery Barnes, 2 grandchildren – Lucas and Katlynn, 1 brother-in-law Charles Bays, 1 niece and 2 nephews.
Preceding Richard in death are his parents, 2 brothers Wayne Barnes and Loyde Barnes, 1 step-brother Kenny Barnes, and a sister-in-law Hazel Bays.
