Roger Eugene Goodale

Roger is preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Bernard, Richard, James, and Jack; six sisters, Shirley Bulkowski, Bernita (Teri) Gerwin, Bessie Gee, Eleanore Sheridan, Gigi Hart, Gloria (Booter) Wagner; all of Fostoria OH; and son Jack of Dollar Bay MI.

Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Hope (Fay Lynn Gilbert) Goodale, two sons, Roger of Colorado Springs CO and Shane of Okemos MI; three daughters, Dawn Kemper of Terre Haute, Mary Ervast of L’anse MI, and Teri Falinski of Tempe AZ; ten grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Roger enlisted in the Coast Guard in 1954; spending many months overseas before being stationed in Calumet MI where he got out of the service in 1966. He came to Terre Haute in 1968 to work as a food-service foreman at the penitentiary. He was a member of the Cross Tabernacle Church, in N. Terre Haute, where he worked as a handyman after retiring from the prison. He loved gardening, outdoors activities, all of his pets, and sharing time with his family.

A visitation is scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 1, from 4 to 7 P.M. at the Mattox-Wood Funeral Home, 4660 Lafayette, in Terre Haute. A short service will immediately follow. Per his wishes, a cremation has been arranged. Online condolences can be made at www.mattoxwood.com
