Ronald Eugene Decker

Ronald Eugene Decker, 86, of West Terre Haute, passed away at 12:01 p.m. Friday, March 13, 2015, in Union Hospital. He retired as the plant superintendant from Prox Co. at Terre Haute after 39 years of service. He was born June 1, 1928, in Terre Haute, to Arley E. Decker and Wanda Mae Jeffers Decker.

His wife, Jeanette Rader Decker, whom he married on Dec. 24, 1946, at Terre Haute, preceded him in death Nov. 5, 2008. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Cheryl and Eddie Stark of West Terre Haute; a son and daughter-in-law, Steve Decker Sr. and Pam Decker of West Terre Haute; three grandchildren, Stephen Decker Jr. and his wife Lynita, Tami Fields and her companion Marty Lasecki, and Jennifer Vaughn and her husband Rick; and three great-grandchildren, Sara Decker, Travis Fields and Tyler Fields.

Ron was a past member of the Benevolent and Protective Order OF Elks Lodge No. 86, and a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Lodge No. 291. He enjoyed fishing, farming and woodworking.

Funeral services for Ronald will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Fitzpatrick Funeral Home, 220 N. Third St., West Terre Haute, with Pastor Joe Irwin officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday and from 9 a.m. until the service time Tuesday.
