Ronald J. Rigney, 76, of Terre Haute passed away on Wednesday, October 14, 2020 at his home, surrounded by loved ones. He was born on October 31, 1943, in Beech Grove to Max J. and Gladys P. (Powers) Rigney.

Ronald is survived by his son, Ronald J. Rigney II and wife Courtney of Ft. Myers, FL; his soulmate and sweetheart, Donna Trotter of Terre Haute; grandchildren, Dylan Dolinar, Cole Rigney, Scarlett Rigney, and Julian Rigney; and cousins, Sandy, Cheryl, Linda, and JoEllen.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a granddaughter, Madison Elizabeth Rigney.

Ronald worked in maintenance at Eli Lilly for 33 years. He loved riding his Harley, especially to the Bridgeton Mill and through Brown County State Park. A people person, Ronald never met a stranger. He always saw the good in others, no matter what. He was a collector of antiques and nostalgic items, including Harley shirts, railroad memorabilia, Pepsi memorabilia, and milk jugs. He had a knack for fixing things and would fix things for others, free of charge. Ronald would always say, “It’s all under warranty. The parts and labor are guaranteed.”

Visitation will be held from 11 to 1 on Tuesday, October 20 at Roselawn Funeral Home. A funeral ceremony will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, at the funeral home with Pastor Todd Payton officiating. Ronald will be laid to rest in Roselawn Memorial Park. Guests are required to wear masks while attending visitation and services. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Bethany House, 1402 Locust Street, Terre Haute, IN 47807 or to St. Joseph’s Indian School, PO Box 326, Chamberlain, SD 57326, or to the charity of the donor’s choice. Never one to say goodbye, Ron’s favorite saying was “I’ll see you on down the Pecos!”

So sad to hear about Ron. I worked with him in Product Finishing for several years. He was always fun to be around. Always good spirited and positive. He was a great mechanic and took pride in his work. He will be missed.

I was so sorry to read of Ron's passing. He was one of the most pleasant, upbeat
guys I have ever met. It was always fun to run into Ron at the plant as he always had a funny
story or a joke to share. He was a good mechanic and a hard worker, always pleasant to be around.

My condolences to Donna and his family .

So sorry to see where Ron had passed away. I met him many years ago when I worked in the cafeteria and for the cleaning crew at Eli Lilly. He was a great guy and always so nice and polite. We had a lot of conversations during that time. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family.

Annette/Donna and other family members, my condolences and thoughts/prayers for you. During my earlier years at Lilly, I remember Ron as always being cheerful and friendly. I was glad to hear, from a lady who attends Union Christian Church, that Ron accepted the Lord as his Savior and asked to be baptized. So we know he is much better off now and not suffering. Ron was fortunate to have Donna and her family caring for him during his time of illness.

One of the nicest people I have ever met. One of the best mechanics Product Finishing ever had.
When I retired from Clinton Labs, he gave me 2 of his collector milk bottles and I still display them today.
I’m just so glad I was able to talk with him before his death. Even though he was facing an up hill battle, he was still positive about the outcome.👍👍❤️❤️
