Obituary of Rosemary Milner
Rosemary “Rosie” (Morin) Milner, 69, of Terre Haute, passed away peacefully at home on December 29, 2022, with her loving husband Bill by her side, after a nineteen-year battle with frontotemporal dementia. Rosie was born in Terre Haute to her mother, Helen, and her father, Frank. She graduated from Gerstmeyer High School in 1971 and earned her medical assistant degree from Ivy Tech Community College. Rosie enriched the lives of her family, friends, and countless co-workers through her contagious smile, laughter, and outgoing personality. Her charisma was evident in her many years working as an office manager for Dr. Arnold Kunkler and, later, as a medical transcriptionist for both Union and Regional hospitals. Rosie was a member of North Union United Methodist Church. She was a constant force, who could always be found helping with group dinners and decorations for countless causes and celebrations. Rosie was a lover of sewing, crafting, and gardening. This was apparent in the many handmade items she lovingly made for family and friends. She enjoyed decorating their home and would rearrange furniture on a regular basis. This was especially evident when her loving husband Bill came back from Air Guard deployments and found their home completely redecorated and rearranged. Most of all, Rosie loved her family and delighted in being a grandmother to her seven grandchildren and one great - granddaughter. She was an amazing role model, wife, mother, and grandmother who touched everyone who knew her with her infectious smile and laugh. Although Rosie was usually found laughing and joking with family, her children knew not to be underfoot when Mom would put on her headscarf and start to clean. Rosie and Bill met in high school in 1970 and knew they were meant to spend the rest of their lives together. They married in August of 1972 and recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. Rosie was predeceased by her parents Helen and Frank Morin, two brothers-in-law Phil Jackson and Tom Reynolds, and her daughter-in-law Lisa (Eggers) Milner. She is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, Bill; her sisters Nancy Jackson and Sharon Reynolds; her daughter Carrie Chiado (Greg), and her sons, Bill Milner (Lisa), and Jarrod Milner; her beloved grandchildren, Jillian and Cole Chiado, Brayden and Cassidy Milner, and Olivia, Parker, and Jordan Milner, as well as her great-granddaughter Emery Anderson; and several nieces and nephews. A visitation will be held on Saturday, January 14, from noon to 2 P.M., at North Union United Methodist Church on State Road 42. A service will immediately follow the visitation with Pastors John O’Neal and Dave Felstein officiating. A reception will be held at the church after the service for those who wish to attend. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to North Union United Methodist Church or the charity of your choice in Rosie’s memory. The family would like to extend a special thanks to both Dr. Clifford Crawford and his staff in Danville, Indiana, and Dr. Anwer Jaffri and his staff at Wabash Valley Infectious Diseases in Terre Haute for their compassion, care, and support throughout Rosie’s treatment.
