

Roy Earl Patterson, Sr. of Terre Haute, went home to be with the Lord, Monday March 11, 2019. He was 88 years of age. Roy was born June 15, 1930 in West Terre Haute, the son of the late Glen and Margaret Patterson and the husband of the late Mary Ann Patterson.
Roy was a long-time coach of baseball, he spent over 50 years involved in Little League from Coach to Manager to Head Umpire, and District Administrator. Roy’s biggest accomplishment in Little League was when he started the Challenger League in Terre Haute. Roy proudly served in the United States Air Force. Roy last worked for the Housing Authority as Head Maintenance Man. Roy also was a member of the Local Masons achieved the 32nd degree level.
Roy is survived by one sister Glenna Kay Bowden of Anaheim, CA; two sons Roy Patterson and Glen Patterson and one daughter-in-law Janet Patterson, all of Cherry Hill, NJ; five grandchildren, nine great -grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Roy is also survived by 3 step-daughters, Tammy Fish, Denise Montgomery, Danet Eagan and husband Dave; and one step-son, Kim Shaffer all of Terre Haute, eight step-grandchildren, eight step-great-grandchildren, and one step-great-great-grandchild.
Visitation will be held from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on Friday, March 22 at Roselawn Funeral Home. A funeral ceremony will take place at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, at the funeral home.
