Stephen Wayne Chastain

Stephen “Steve” Wayne Chastain, 57, of Terre Haute, passed away Friday, Oct. 23, 2015, in Union Hospital. Steve was born in Terre Haute on Sept. 3, 1958, to Myron Chastain and Bertha Chatham Chastain. Steve was a self-employed carpenter, and was a member of Christ Temple Church and loved serving the Lord. Steve was very active in Bible study, studying the Bible at every opportunity. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family, and especially spending time with his daughter, Lillian.

Steve is survived by two daughters, Lillian Chastain of Terre Haute and a daughter Christina. He is also survived by three sisters, Velma Haberle of Oaktown, Ind., Nancy Gardner of Terre Haute, and Donnetta “Sis” Brownson and her husband Robert of Terre Haute; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Services are scheduled for 1 p.m. Monday, Oct. 26, 2015, at Greiner Funeral Home, 2005 N. 13th St., with visitation from 11 a.m. until the service time Monday at the funeral home. Pastor Merrill Weir, Pastor Marvin Overstreet and Pastor Chuck Cooley will be officiating. Burial will be at Roselawn Memorial Park.
