Sue David, lovingly known as “Nan,” of Terre Haute, Indiana, passed away on August 12, 2025 surrounded by her family. She was born on March 18, 1946 to the late Irma Brummett and was the devoted wife of Ed David for 29 years.
Nan was a proud Hoosier and an avid IU basketball fan, rarely missing a game. She found joy in simple pleasures such as cheering for her team—especially when they played Purdue—talking about her dog, Brady, wearing fun and funky neon clothes, watching softball games, listening to Elvis music, and gathering with friends and family around a card table. Many of her happiest moments were spent playing cards with her dear friends Doug and Jeanette Graham, where the girls always came out on top. Nan was also known for making her grandkids “graham cracker” cookies.
A woman of deep faith, Nan was a devout Christian who found comfort, guidance, and strength in her beliefs. She was the heart of her family, pouring love, wisdom, and humor into every generation.
Along with her husband she is survived by her children, Kelli (Rich) Cole of Sullivan, Michelle Prose of Sullivan, and Chris (Nikki) Prose of Muncie; her grandchildren, Arika (Matt) Nicol, Morgan (Elijah) Kellem, Noah Prose, Tyler Prose, Nathan Prose, Dillon (Brianna) Rucker, and Zach Rucker; and her great-grandchildren, Rilie, Madison, and Adalynn Nicol, and Isabella, Cooper, and Anthony Kellem. She is also survived by many siblings whom she loved deeply. She was preceded in death by her beloved great-grandson, Haydin Kellem.
Nan’s legacy is one of unconditional love, fierce loyalty, and the ability to make everyone feel like they belonged. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Visitation will be held on Friday, August 15, 2025 from 11am to 1pm at Roselawn Funeral Home. Services will begin at 1pm with John Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park.
