Tanya Leianne Vire

Tanya Leianne Vire, of Terre Haute, passed away on Friday, September 9, 2022 at Gibson Family Center for Hospice Care. Tanya was born in Terre Haute on November 29, 1950 to Leo Aquilla Price and Edith Josephine Price. Tanya was retired from the Vigo County School Corporation, where she worked for 31 years. She was a member of the American Legion Post 104 Ladies Auxiliary and Wabash Valley Jeep Junkies. Her giving nature drove her to crochet blankets for newborn babies for nearly 50 years, and for two years, she made plastic mats for the homeless. She had a love for animals, especially her dog, Harley, and her two cats, Sami and Hoppy. She had a lifelong passion for rollercoasters and Elvis. In addition to crocheting, she also enjoyed reading. Survivors include her loving husband, Terry Wayne Vire; two daughters, Stacey Lynn Higginbotham and Jeris Michelle Spence (Jeremy); four grandchildren, Dustin Higginbotham (Amanda), Dalton Norton, Jeffrey Wade, and Liam Spence; two great-grandchildren, Reagan and Logan Higginbotham; two sisters, and one brother. At her request, there will be no visitation or services. Her family will have a Celebration of Life on Saturday, October 15th at 2:30 p.m. at the American Legion Post 104.
