Venus Vestus Houser

Venus was a graduate of Ivy Tech, where he received an Auto Mechanics degree. He had been employed by Sullivan County Department Garage and General Housewares.

He honorably served his country in the US Army.

Venus was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 50 years, Emma; seven siblings, Ira Lee Houser, Aris Amos Houser, Frankie Bailey, Velsie Chambers, Minnie Sinders, "Sis" Houser, and Mary Bennett.

Surviving are his children, Venus DeWayne Houser and wife Melody, Brian Houser and wife Linda, Jeffrey Houser and wife Pam; a sister, Shirley Houser; a brother Olly Holly Houser; seven grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 26, 2023 from 10 AM until 12 noon at Mattox-Wood Funeral Home.

Graveside services with Honors will be held on Tuesday, September 26, 2023 at 1:30 PM at Douglas Chapel Cemetery in Shelburn.
