Vickie Lynn Starr

Vickie was born in December of 1952 to Embry and Hilda Joyner in Mobile, Alabama. She went on to attend and graduate from Woodruff High School and later attended and graduated from Illinois Central College with an Associates in Robotic Engineering.

Vickie used her Robotic Engineering Degree to work for Sony for over ten years. She was very involved in activities at her church, Mount Edna, and loved garage sales, crafting and playing board games. But her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Vickie is survived by her husband of thirty-three years Kevin Starr; stepson Craig Starr (Annie); grandchildren Brittany Bishop (Brandon), and Brent Henricks (Rylan); great-grandchildren Briston, Waylen, and Bayne Bishop, Will and Anna Brenton, and Scarlett, Hattie, and Dawson Henricks; sister Faye Reisbig (Larry); stepsister Sandy France; and Aunt Kay Jones(Ralph).

She is preceded in death by her father Embry Joyner; mother Hilda Joyner (Watson); daughter Katrina Wardle; son-in-law Patrick Wardle, brothers Gerald and Steve Joyner; stepbrother Mike Smith, and Aunt Jetta Draper.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 1, 2025 from 11am – 1pm with services to follow at Mattox Wood Funeral Home.
