Violet Marie Sykes

Violet Marie Sykes, 93, of Terre Haute, passed away Aug. 30, 2015, at Meadows Manor North. She was born to Marrett and Nellie Smith in Chrisman, Illinois on May 24, 1922. Violet loved her flowers, working in her yard and she also loved to cook and loved kids.

Violet is survived by her daughter, Nancy Albin; son, James D. Sykes and wife, Sarah; her grandchildren, Steve Albin and wife, Donna, Brent Sykes and wife, Patti, Kelby Sykes and wife, Rhonda, and Heather Schrock and husband, Brad; great-grandchildren, Zachery Seltzer, Morgan Schrock, Jackson Schrock and Gianna Albin; and nieces and nephews.

Violet was preceded in death by her husband, Delbert; a son, Dick; a granddaughter, Brenda Jasmin; and her brothers and sisters.

Services are 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 3, 2015 at Roselawn Funeral Home, with the visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Rev. David Rockhill will officiate.
