

William “Bill” Oliver Legg, 83, of Terre Haute, passed away on Thursday, March 12, 2015, at his home, surrounded by his family. He was born on August 9, 1931, in Elwood, IN to William Jennings Brian and Vivian Edith (Jacobs) Legg. He married Janet Crim in May 1963.
Bill proudly served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. For many years, he owned a car lot, Kollege Korner, on Lafayette Ave. On nice days, Bill could always be found playing golf. He enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening. Most of all, Bill cherished the time he spent with his family. Bill was a lifetime member of Krietenstein American Legion Post 104.
Bill is survived by his wife, Janet Legg of Terre Haute, children, Elizabeth Ann Legg Crowley of Terre Haute; Brian Mitchell Legg of LaCrosse, WI; Deborah Ann Hoffman and husband Joseph of Terre Haute; and Jacqualyn Sue VanTreese of Terre Haute; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister, Barbara Mitten, Judy Roseth and Sarah Gallantan and husband Ronnie; a brother Robert Legg; brother-in-law, Dick Bannon; several nieces and nephews; his beloved African Grey parrot, Sydney; and his beloved Pekingese, ChooChoo.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and sisters, Wilma Jean Bannon and Mary Wade.
Visitation will be held from 11 to 1 on Monday, March 16, 2015, at Roselawn Funeral Home. Sevices will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Park with military rites performed by American Legion Post 104. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Legion Post 104.
