William Franklin Compton III

Bill was born April 16, 1949, in Elwood, IN, the son of William F. Compton Jr and Mary Louise Watson. Bill is survived by and was a loving husband to his wife, Shelley Compton. Bill is also survived by his children, Brad (Patti) Compton of Marshall, IL, Brent (Jennifer) Compton of Dennison, IL, and Angela (Scott) Weins of Frankton, IN. Siblings: Gail Sue Keating of Indianapolis, IN and Penny Jo (Rick) Thomas of Wyoming, MI; Grandchildren: Alex, Austin, and Alissa Compton, Logan (Katie) and Landon Weins, Ally, Connor, and Brendan Compton. Great grandchildren: Graham and Grady; Step Children: Steve and Lisa Atkins, Jesse and Jason Coffman; Adopted son: Little Bill (Jeremy) Compton; Step Grandkids: Eric, Ricky, and Beth Anne Atkins.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother-in-law, Dr. Edward Michael Keating. Unfortunately, he was also preceded in death by his 3rd wife Pam, his 4th wife Shirley, and his 5th wife Marilyn.

Bill loved more than anything to hang out with his friends at the Moose Lodge, VFW, and Eagles clubs. He roamed Tipton, Hartford City, Vincennes, BuckHead Ridge, Okeechobee, and Clinton for all of these years. As Harry Chapin wrote "Cats in the Cradle", When you coming home? I don't know when, you know we'll have a good time then.
