

Harrison was born November 14, 1925 in Vermillion County, the son of John and Jane Harrison. He served in the U.S. Navy in the Pacific Theater during World War II, earning the rank of Fireman First Class while aboard the submarine USS Trutta. He also served at the Crane Navel Depot and returned to duty in Washington, D.C., during the Korean War. He was maintenance supervisor at the Visqueen Corporation plant, before becoming manager of Wabash Machine. He retired in 1987.
He married Betty Sturm in April 1944 in New London, Connecticut. She preceded him in death in 1988. He was also preceded in death by his parents, the aunt that raised him, Gladys Stone; three brothers, Gene, Bob and Bud and a son-in-law, Dennis Lankford.
Harrison is survived by a daughter, Joyce Lankford of Owensville; a daughter and son-in-law, Judy and David Eiseman of Fontanet; a son and daughter-in-law, Randy and Beth Harrison of Robinson, IL., nine grandchildren and several great and great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
In accordance with Bill's wishes, no funeral service will be held. A Memorial Service will be held 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 18, 2012 at Forest Park Baptist Church, 3900 E.
