Bill graduated from Terre Haute North Vigo in 1978. He was a long-time scales technician and installer. He worked at Great Dane as a fabricator until his health prevented him from working. Bill was a long-time member of Murdock Auto Racing Club and was an avid motorsports enthusiast. He enjoyed drag racing and NASCAR.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Ruth (Deckard) Hamilton, a brother, Ron Hamilton and a son, Carl Robert Hamilton.
He is survived by his sons, William Hamilton Jr (Samantha Williams) and Austin Hamilton (Crimson); a grandson, Nikolas Hamilton; his sister, Debbie Fields (Bob); his brother, Chuck Hamilton; a niece, Kristina Fielding (Chris); two great nieces, Bailey and Brielyn Fielding and his lifelong friend, Crystal Gulley.
Visitation for Bill will be held on Tuesday, November 3, 2026, from 4:00pm to 7:00pm at Mattox-Wood Funeral Home. Services will take place on Wednesday, November 4, 2026, at 12:00pm at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park.
