

William Robert “Bob” Kendall, 92, of Terre Haute, passed away on Friday, January 2, 2015 at Cobblestone Crossings in Terre Haute. He was born May 12, 1922, the oldest son of Harry and Mary Margaret Kendall. He lived in Terre Haute all of his life.
Bob graduated from Gerstmeyer High School in 1938, and served in the United States Army during World War II. He worked for both the Pennsylvania Railroad and Conrail, retiring after 42 years of service as a railroad engineer. His hobbies included working in his yard, playing gin rummy, and following sports. Baseball was his favorite sport. He was a life-long fan of the Chicago Cubs.
He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant son; two sisters, Jean and Ruth; and two brothers, Jack and Harry.
Survivors include his wife of 72 years, Marge; a son, Michael Kendall of Brownsburg, Indiana; a daughter, Mary Ellen Miller (Stan) of Columbus, Indiana; grandson Rob Kendall of Brownsburg, Indiana; granddaughter Andrea Kwon (Sam) of Palisades Park, New Jersey; brother Charles Kendall (Norma) of Terre Haute; sister Carol Schnurpel (Chuck) of Terre Haute; and many nieces and nephews.
