

He was born in Fontanet, Indiana on March 2, 1932, Zenius Van Hook and Grace Long Van Hook.
Nipper was a veteran of the United States Air Force serving his country during the Korean War. He was a Chicago Cubs fan through-and-through and enjoyed catching the games with his sister Mary Alice whether it was on T.V., radio or in person. GO CUBS GO! Nipper was a member of the VFW Post 972 in Terre Haute and the American Legion Post 140 in Clinton and loved meeting his family and friends there on Thursdays for a cold beer and good conversation. He was a member of the International Typographical Union for 25 years or better and he was honored by the Terre Haute Bowling Association for rolling a 299 game.
Those Preceding Nipper in death are his parents, seven sisters: Mildred Walters, Mable Detrick, Helen Van Hook, Jean Chubrilo, Joan Wood, Dorothy Rolando, and Mary Alice Buffo and two brothers: Jimmy Van Hook and Wayne Van Hook.
Nipper leaves behind many loving nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and friends who will think of him often and miss him greatly.
Honoring Nipper’s wishes cremation was chosen and there will be no service. Final arrangements have been entrusted to Mattox-Wood Funeral Home.
