Ann Wilhite passed away peacefully on May 31, 2015 at her home surrounded by her family. Ann was born in Bridgeport, Tx on Sept. 22, 1942 to Ruben and Irene (Caraway) Lehmberg. They both preceded her in death along with her brother, Jimmy Lehmberg. Ann was a woman who always stayed active in whatever task she could be involved in. She worked in retail for several years with different stores and in the 1990s she and her husband owned and operated A&M Produce in the Richland Hills area for many years until they retired. Never one to stay idle, Ann then devoted her time and her wonderful energy to her family and friends by being their go-to person and the “rock” of the family. She came to be known as everyone’s Mama because of her consistent ability to care for others. Her dedication to her husband and her children gave them proof of her love and loyalty to them and their own families. She was a wife that her husband, Melvin, looked to for strength and she was a fantastic mother with all the time in the world to help with any of her children’s needs and requests. Ann had so much love and care to give that it couldn’t be contained-she also lavished care on her beloved ‘puppies’ making sure that their needs were taken care of as well. When her grandchildren came along, Ann showed even more devotion to them by ensuring that every time they visited, she was the first to hug them and tell them how special they were. A talented gardener, the whole family remembers how she loved to plant any type of vegetable in her garden and then harvest and can her home grown tomatoes and green beans to give to others. Her garden was a perfect tribute to Ann’s ability to grow and nurture anything. Her gift of caring for all who were privileged to know her is a legacy that her family will continue to treasure and carry on. Ann is survived by her husband of 52 years, Melvin Wilhite of Terrell; children: Tammy Garcia and husband, Mario of Terrell, Lisa Ringo and husband Jerry, of Terrell, Scott Wilhite and wife, Mindy of Kaufman; grandchildren: Jackie Stephens, Stefani Pinckard, Taylor Garcia, Ashley Ringo, Jeremy Ringo, Emily Loria, Tristan Wilhite, Caden Wilhite; sisters, Billie Patterson and Mary Goodgion; brother, Ruben Lehmberg, Jr. as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends who loved her and will miss her dearly. Funeral service will be 10:00am, Wednesday, June 3, 2015 at Anderson-Clayton Bros. Chapel with interment to follow at College Mound Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6-8pm, Tuesday, June 2, 2015 at the funeral home.
