Billy Ronald Lewis Jr. died peacefully on Oct. 21 with his family at his side. He was born June 26, 1953 in Corona, CA to Bill Lewis, Sr. and Ella Belle Webb Lewis. He was preceded in death by his father Bill Lewis, Sr., his maternal grandmother Gladys Dodson. He was affectionately known as Ron by family and as Bill by his business associates. Ron succumbed to a malignant brain tumor. Ron attended Dallas schools, graduating from H. Grady Spruce in 1971. He attended East Texas State University for two years majoring in economics before he joined the family flooring business in the wholesale business district in Dallas along side his father, Bill Lewis, Sr. Ron branched out to found and operate a wholesale produce delivery service business for 17 years, servicing schools, restaurants, hospitals and other institutions. Ron was semi-retired at the time of his death. His hobbies included horticulture, race-cars and coin collecting he was a voracious reader and music lover Ron is survived by his wife Monica Maurer Lewis of Terrell, they were married for 37 years. His son Billy Ronald Lewis, III and his wife Dana Dorough of Dallas, his mother Ella Belle Webb Lewis, of Crandall, his sister Cynthia Lewis Dominguez and her husband Bertoldo Dominguez of Dallas, brother-in-law Reggie Maurer of Clifton, TN, brother-in-law Chris Maurer and his wife Robin Maurer of Grapevine, mother and father-in-law Al and Bet Maurer of Terrell, numerous nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. A memorial service celebrating his life will be held at Anderson-Clayton Bros. Funeral Home on Nov. 8, 2014 at 2 p.m. at 301 W. Nash Street in Terrell.
