

Mary “Frances” Flowers Bell, 87 of Terrell, Texas died peacefully in the arms of her family on Saturday, May 9, 2015. A memorial service will be held at 1:00pm, on Tuesday May 26th at Anderson-Clayton Bros. Chapel in Terrell, Texas with Pastor Jon Curry of Grace Community Church of Archer City, Texas officiating. Frances was born on February 3, 1928 to the late Thomas Earl and Ludie Flowers. She graduated Terrell High School in 1945. She attended Caruth School of Hygiene and graduated in 1955 as a member of the first graduating class of dental hygienists in Texas. She practiced with Dr. James R. Nelson for thirty-seven years and with Dr. Tom Blackwell for five years before retiring in 1996. Her first and only child, Thomas Ross Bell, was born on July 30, 1947, and was the apple of her eye. Frances was known for her witty sense of humor and her discerning spirit. She was a member of her local art and book clubs. She loved to paint, a love she passed on to her great grandchildren. Frances left behind many beautiful paintings that her family will cherish for years to come. Frances loved to read, work crossword puzzles and watch old movies, with “It’s a Wonderful Life” being her favorite. Frances never shied from showing love and good deeds to all she knew, and each life she touched was blessed to have known her. Frances was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers: Clarence Spradlin and Thomas Earl Flowers Jr.; sister-in-law, Shirley Flowers, and many dear friends. Frances is survived by one son Tommy Bell and wife Betty of Dalhart, Texas; two grandchildren: Brooke Bell McLemore and husband Matt of Archer City, Texas and Jordan Bell,m M.D., of Gainesville, Florida; two great grandchildren: Landon and Lexsey McLemore of Archer City, Texas; one sister-in-law, Juanita Spradlin; many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. A special thanks to God’s many servants at Hospice of Wichita Falls. Frances loved all of the special friends she made on her journey home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Hospice of Wichita Falls at 4909 Johnson Rd., Wichita Falls, Texas 76310 or the Texas Central Hemophilia Association at 12700 Hillcrest Rd., Dallas, Texas 75230.
