

MOORE, Jess Ennis Jess Ennis Moore passed away suddenly at his home in Forney on December 10, at the age of 69. He was born in Columbus, GA, on January 2, 1951. His mother, Susan Vig, father, Jesse Moore, Sr., and brother, Randy Moore, predeceased him. He is survived by his step mother Gail Moore. The Mesquite Fire Department served as his second home until his retirement in 2004. He served in many roles including Captain, Fire Marshall and Deputy Fire Chief. Serving the citizens of Mesquite was rewarding for Jess and he loved the camaraderie of being a firefighter. He was a firefighter's chief. An avid animal lover, he rescued many a stray over the years. Jess enjoyed reading, history, dancing, and singing old classics with his children and grandchildren. He loved meeting family members far and wide. He is survived by his wife Cathy Stewart Moore; daughters Michelle Branch (boyfriend Miguel Padilla), Randi Hart (Darin), and Beth Songer (Matt); grandchildren Lauren Hussong (Brett), Luke Spoor, Bryce Branch, Abbie Branch, Blake Rogers, Cate, Madi, and Ben Songer; great-grandchild, Hayden Branch; sisters Kirsten Moore and Kelly Moore Rey (Tommy), brother Michael Moore (Holly), aunt Sally Owens, cousin Calista Langstaff, and numerous nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, a memorial gift may be made to DFW Beagle Buddies. A graveside service will be held on Friday, December 18, at 1 pm at Hillcrest Cemetery (Pinson Rd.) in Forney.
