He loved animals and children and even coached PeeWee soccer. He was the one of the most generous and loving people you could ever meet and was well known for his middle of the night “I love you” text. You could call him for anything at any time of the day or night and he would come running to help in any way he could. . He could always be counted on to be the life of the party and made sure to keep everyone laughing. Lathan loved America and his Philadelphia Eagles. At 23 he was already buying his own house and could often be found working in his yard, fishing or shooting guns. When his grandfather was sick he taught his self how to operate a tractor so he could help his Namaw take care of her land. He will be dearly missed by everyone who had the opportunity to know him.

Lathan, you were my baby boy, my best friend, and my world. I was so proud of the man you had become. You were achieving things I had never been able to do even though you were so young. You made such a positive impact on every single person you came in contact with.
I'm going to miss you so much my little boy. The world is a much darker place without your smile.

Several years ago, I had the honor of being Lathan's Biology teacher at Terrell High. Lathan had a way to bring humor to my class. he was always being funny and making people laugh. Many times even after finishing my class he would come by my room just to give me a hard time. I always enjoyed having him in class. It was always a more interesting day with him around. My condolences for your family. You guys are in my prayers.

Such a bright young man I was fortunate to teach at my time in Terrell. Ag was one of his favorite classes, and he always found a way to make me laugh or smile. Lathan will be severely missed by all of us that knew him. My deepest condolences and sympathies to his family and classmates. I hope "For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal."2 Corinthians 4:17-18

My son, my baby, one of my proudest moments I ever had, I love you son, I will miss your big blue eyes and cow lick you had right on the front of your forehead, I love you and the only thing making this mother keep going is knowing you are in God arms now, love you till I take my last breath son.
