Mary R. Vinson, age 97, passed away on Friday July 3, 2020. Mary was born October 18, 1922 in Corsicana, Texas to Wiley Wesley Vaughan and Salina Lorine (Crawford) Vaughan.

Mary was a simple woman always working hard though to provide for her family, she worked 20 plus years at Sears and Roebucks and she also was a cook for 20 plus years in Seven Points, Texas. When she wasn't working though she loved her sports, especially the Dallas Cowboys, UT Texas Longhorns, Texas Rangers and Houston Astros to name a few. BINGO...now if you said it you better be ready to go play because she was an avid BINGO player and loved the game.

Mary is preceded in death by her parents, husband, A.J. Vinson; two brothers, W.W. Vaughan Jr. and W.D. Vaughn; sister, Fannie Lorene Gaston; son, Wylie Ross Vinson; grandson, James Veltrop Jr. and granddaughter Valeria Vinson.

Those left with cherished memories are her four children, Tommy Vinson, Joyce Veltrop and husband Jim, Howard Vinson and wife Claudia and Doris Vinson; two sisters, Irene Brown and Margie Brown; brother Wesley E. Vaughan; 13 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren and 16 great great grandchildren with one more on the way, a host of other beloved family and friends who will miss her greatly.

A visitation for Mary will be held Friday, July 10, 2020 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Anderson Clayton Funeral Home in Terrell, Texas. A funeral service will occur Saturday, July 11, 2020 at 10:00 AM, followed by a graveside service at Restland Memorial Park located at 9220 Restland Rd, Dallas, Texas.

Mary and Doris were the first people I met when I moved to Texas. Over the years we have become like family. I will never forget our fun times watching football and playing bingo. I will surely miss her as will my family Karen. Steve and Alexis Johnston. May she rest in peace

I've known Mrs. Mary for over 50 years. Her and Mr.Frog, a name I knew of him when I was young was her husband AJ Vinson. They were such a great couple.. There are so many memories of both families going to the play days. Having a great time riding horses. She was such a pleasant lady that everyone loved to be around with. She will be sorely missed.. She was loved by all.. Now she will be with Mr. Frog looking down at us. My sincerest condolences to the entire Vinson family.. Rest in peace Mrs. Mary.
