Mildred Jeanette Binns, 73, of Terrell, TX, passed away on April 22, 2015. “Millie”, as she was known by family and friends, was born on March 24, 1942 to William and Nettie Batts in Detroit, MI. Family was the top priority in her life and she loved each of them unconditionally. Her grandchildren held a very special place in her heart and they all called her “Mimi”. Her signature phrase to them was “I love you high as the sky and deep as the ocean”. She enjoyed taking care of her dogs and spending time gardening in her yard, whether growing vegetables or nurturing her flowers. Reading a mystery novel in her quiet time was a favorite activity and Mary Higgins Clark and Sandra Brown were her favorite authors to read. Millie also enjoyed watching Investigation Discovery and going to First Monday in Canton. Millie was a great cook and famous for her chocolate sheet cake. She married John Binns on July 10, 1959 and they spent many wonderful years together. She attended Rafter J Cowboy Church and enjoyed volunteering her time there to help others . Millie was preceded in death by her parents William and Nettie. Those left to cherish her memory are husband John Binns; children: Mark Binns and girlfriend Angelica Andrade of Atlanta, GA, Kenny Binns and wife Cheril of Roanoke, TX and Cathy Binns Meagher and husband Mike of Allen, TX; grandchildren: Connor Binns of Austin, TX, Reagan Meagher and Griffin Meagher of Allen; Sister Judy Ruderer and husband Jim of Holly Lake Ranch, TX; nephews: Thomas Ruderer of Terrell, TX, Jimmy Ruderer and wife LeeAnn and Andy Ruderer and wife Sabrina of Nashville, TN, Susan Dickerson Roberts and husband Bob of Tallahassee, FL, Melissa Schroeter and husband Dirk of Prosper, TX, and David Dickerson and wife Michelle of St. Petersburg, FL; cousins: Peggy Pickel and husband Paul and Pat Wilson of Clinton, MS, Harold Ainsworth of Wiggins, MS, Holly Holland of Cullowhee, NC; as well as several great-nieces and great-nephews who will all miss her dearly. There will be a gathering of family and friends held at the Anderson-Clayton Bros. Funeral Home Wednesday, April 29, 2015, from 6pm – 8pm. The family will celebrate the life of Millie, Thursday, April 30, 2015, at 11:00am in the Anderson-Clayton Bros Chapel. Interment will follow at DFW National Cemetery in Dallas at 1:30pm.
