Mrs. Patty Ruth Williams

Patty Ruth Williams passed away on May 10, 2014, just 6 days shy of her 95th birthday.  She was born on May 16, 1919 to Robert and Lillie Mae Bufkin in Greenville, TX.  She was married to the late Douglas Lafoy Williams on September 21, 1940 for 44 years until his passing on Jan. 10, 1984.  Patty is preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Lillie Bufkin, her husband, brothers:  Bill, Carl and Jack Bufkin and one sister, Billie Sue Dodson.  Patty retired from Terrell State Hospital where she worked as a mental health worker on the Child& Adolescent Unit, an occupation she truly enjoyed.  She had a passion for children, cooking and crocheting. She was a loving wife and devoted mother and grandmother and her smile and sweet spirit will be missed by all who knew her. She leaves to cherish her memory her son, Charles Leslie Williams and wife Beverly of Poetry; daughter, Debora Sue Phillips and husband, Bill of Terrell; 4 grandchildren:  Becky Lewis of Terrell, Matthew Phillips and wife, Katy of Heartland, Jonathan Williams and wife, Liz, of Midland, and Julie Ann Williams of Rockwall; 6 great grandchildren:  Shelby, Gavin, Gracie, Emma, Story, Grayson and soon-to-be, Scarlett as well as several other extended family members and a host of friends. Funeral service for Mrs. Williams will be held at 10:00am, Wednesday, May 14, 2014 at Anderson-Clayton Bros. Chapel with interment to follow at Oakland Memorial Park.  The family will receive friends 6-8pm, Tuesday, May 13, at the funeral home.
