I am sorry that I just heard of his passing.  He brought such joy with his singing and trumpet playing.  I think of him every Christmas when I hear Bing Crosby sing white Christmas, but I hear Bob instead.  Karen Cory retired TISD teacher.  West Tawakoni.

I can only say how sorry I am for having never meet this wonderful man; I know I would have just loved him.I am truly sorry for your loss my dear friends in Texas. I do know one thing from reading about Mr. Snyder's life, he instilled in his family a love of God and all that is good in this world, having met you both years ago,I now see where your life values came from and why you are such awesome people. My deepest sympathies again to you and the entire family.

I first met Bob when were in college at East Texas State Teachers College.  We roomed at the same boarding house and became friends.  After graduation we later roomed together in an apartment in Dallas,  Bob then was working for the post office.  Later he gave me credit for convincing him to go back to teaching.  Bob was always a man of great character and was a good friend. He will be missed, but Heaven will be a little brighter.  Tom Carrell

What a wonderful godly example Mr. Snyder was! He made a huge positive impact on my young life both in directing our choir at First Christian Church and being my band director throughout high school. I was thankful to have him as my director when I was church organist at the First Christian Church. He helped me musically and spiritually. Thank you Mr. Snyder! Mr. Snyder was one of the best men I've ever known.  I knew I'd always feel better about things after talking to him.  He was my band director at TCA, and I'm thankful to God that He allowed our paths to cross. I love that he always remembered his kids, no matter how long it had been since we all graduated. Once you were his kid, you were always his kid.

The last time I saw him was at a fish fry at FBC a few years ago, and it was a total surprise when he walked through the doors.  I immediately had to go and hug his neck.  I gave my mom my phone so she could take a picture of the two of us.  I will cherish that photo and that encounter for the rest of my life.  He will always have a place in my heart.

Mr. Snyder was a major influence in my life as my band director at THS from 1962 until I graduated in 1966.  He took me twice to see (and meet) the great Al Hirt in Dallas.  As a fatherless young teen, I don't know if Mr. Snyder ever realized how much he meant to me.  He will be greatly missed.  By the way, thank you, Mrs. Snyder, for sharing him with all of us for these many years.

Mrs. Snyder, Steve and Bruce, my prayers are with you during this time. Your husband and father was a true Renaissance man throughout his life. He loved his family and always gave of himself unselfishly. Mr. Snyder changed people's lives and his legacy will go on. The Snyder family has always been a blessing to me and I thank God for them. He was a good neighbor and a true man of God in every sense of the word. I will miss him as so many people will but he planted many seeds in the lives of his family, friends and students. God bless you all!

People have been so kind and thoughtful. It was good to see friends and ex-students last night when they came to pay their respects. I am very thankful.

Bob Snyder was a great band director and a wonderful Christian man. He took over as band director from Professor Booth. He was a great influence on many students. The long trips to football games , competitions and marching competitions were much more fun because of him leading us in singing fun songs. Mr. Snyder was such a  strong and important influence as our band director  during my early life.  The world has been so much better for his presence.  My prayers and sympathy for the Snyder family.

I was privileged to have the pleasure of having Mr. Snyder as my band director at two different schools, Terrell High & Terrell Christian Academy. As an adult I always saw him in the community & down the street from my Aunt, always with a smile, hug & kind words. He was the sweetest man I have ever known. There are 9 yrs between my sister & I & she talked about him so much that when I was old enough to be in band I was so excited that I got to have Mr. Snyder for my teacher, mentor & friend as well! You will be truly missed! My prayers go out to the family & friends at this time.

He was a great Band teacher..Funny and just an all around nice man!!!

Sue, I have wonderful memories of Mr. Snyder as my Band Director and Church Choir Director.  He definitely had an impact on my Christian life.  He will be dearly missed.  Comfort to you and your family.

Mr. Snyder was my very first band director. I feel so fortunate that he gave me my start playing the trumpet, which I grew to love so much. He was a wonderful, caring, tough teacher who expected the best because he loved his students. He loved what he did and it showed. He is a true Terrell icon that will be missed.

he was my band director and music teacher for my Jr High and Freshman high school year.  He was an inspiration and a true example to follow.  he will be dearly missed.

Mr. Snyder was a warm, kind, godly man. He was a wonderful teacher, a great example & role model. His talent was immense and his love of music was infectious.He will be deeply missed.
