Veldrean “Vel” Sizemore went to her heavenly reward with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, July 7, at 1:55 pm at Texoma Medical Center in Denison, Texas. She was born January 11, 1933 in Fair Grove, Missouri to Mathew and Ethel Sims. She graduated from Fair Grove High School in 1950. Vel was united in marriage to Rex Sizemore on October 21, 1953 in Rockwall, Texas. Vel and Rex accepted Jesus as their Savior at Oakland Drive Assembly of God in Irving, Texas and were lifelong members of Christian Center Assembly of God in Farmers Branch, Texas.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Rex Sizemore; parents, Mathew and Ethel Sims; sisters, Betty Carter and Estalean Tettleton; and brother, Bill Sims.
Vel is survived by her loving daughter, Cyndi Sizemore-Cain and husband, Shane; Ryndi Price (granddaughter) and husband Justin; Ricky Kimberlin (grandson); Aubrey and Bailey Price (great granddaughters); and Carolyn Stapp (sister) of Springfield, Missouri. She leaves for them a legacy of sincere and steadfast faith and a testimony shared with the Apostle Paul –
“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day – and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for His appearing.” 2 Timothy 4:7-8
Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 12, 2018 at 11:00 am at Anderson Clayton Bros. Funeral Home in Terrell, Texas with interment to follow at Haven of Memories in Canton, Texas.
