Alvin "Al" Harris

Mr. Harris was born February 28, 1924 in Hooks,Texas. He was retired from Red River Army Depot and was a Mason of Border Grand Lodge of Texarkana of 62 years, a Shriner of 8 years and a member of Hardy Memorial Methodist Church Sunday School Friendship Class and was a World War II Navy Veteran.

Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law; Karla and Paul Parrott of Wake Village,Texas, a grandson; Joshua Maurice Markle of Wake Village,Texas and a sister and brother-in-law; Pat and Doug Walston of Houston,Texas and a number of nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 Monday night at East Funeral Home-Downtown

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Tuesday September 24th, 2013 at East Funeral Home-Downtown Chapel with Rev. Carl Teel officiating.

Burial will follow in Chapelwood Memorial Gardens.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of Texarkana or Hardy Memorial United Methodist Church.
