Alyne Sprague

Alyne Sprague, age 101 of Texarkana, Arkansas passed away on Saturday, December 28, 2019.

She was born October 6, 1918 in Malden, Missouri and moved to Texarkana at the age of 12. She graduated from Arkansas High School and was a member of St. Edwards Catholic Church for 74 years.

Mrs. Sprague was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Charles Sprague, her grandson Chris Evans, her son -in-law, Larry Gannon, her sister and brother-in-law, Imogene and Dale Booth.

Survivors Include her 3 daughters and one son-in-law, Patricia Gannon of Mesquite, Texas, Sylvia Thomas of New Boston, Texas and Charlyne and Lynn Evans of Columbus, Arkansas. A granddaughter, Stephanie Thomas of Grapevine, Texas, grandson Stacy Thomas of Omaha, Texas and 4 great grandchildren; special friend Jimmy Hicks and many nieces and nephews.

She was a homemaker and retired after 20 years at Sears. She was a dental assistant, Girl Scout leader and employed at Jean Hart Hats, Dusty Rhodes Motors and volunteered at Texarkana public library.

She enjoyed sewing, flower gardening, traveling, reading, jigsaw puzzles, playing cards with her friends, and being with her family.

The family would like to thank Windsor Cottage and hospice of Texarkana for their loving care to our mother.

Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Monday, December 30, 2019 at East Funeral Home-Downtown Chapel, 602 Olive Street, Texarkana, Texas and visitation will follow immediately.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday at 10:00 a.m., December 31, 2019 at St. Edwards Catholic Church, 407 Beech Street, Texarkana, Arkansas with Rev. James West officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary cemetery.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Muscular Dystrophy Association or Texarkana Public Library.
