Anna Mae Watkins

Anna Mae Watkins, 101, of Texarkana, AR, formerly of Caraway, AR, passed away October 5, 2011 at her home. Mrs. Watkins was born February 12, 1910 in Craighead County, AR. She was a member of Beech Street First Baptist Church and past Grand Electa and Worthy Matron of Eastern Star.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Charlie P. Watkins; 4 sisters; 5 brothers; and 1 grandchild.

Survivors include her daughter, Sylvia McEwen of Texarkana, AR; sons, Garland Watkins of Lakeland, TN and Leonard Watkins of Burns, TN; sister, Mary Lee Collins of Texarkana, AR; 7 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and 6 great great grandchildren.

Memorial service will be 11 a.m., Friday, October 7, 2011 at East Memorial Chapel - Downtown with Rev. Craig Jenkins and Rev. Richard Posey officiating. Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, October 6, 2011 at East Funeral Home - Downtown.

Family will also receive friends at 2 p.m., Saturday, October 8, 2011 at Caraway Baptist Church, Caraway, AR with service to follow at 3 p.m. at the church. Burial will be in Caraway Cemetery, Caraway, AR.
