B A “Buddy” Britt Jr. 94, passed into the arms of Jesus, his Savior, on June 1, 2021. He was born in Nash, Texas on September 12, 1926. He graduated from Texas High, Texarkana and served in the Army in WWII Afterwards, he attended The University of Texas, Austin for his undergraduate degree and graduated UT Law School in the class of 1950. He married Betty Penney on November 30, 1952. Buddy served as Legal Officer for Red River Army Depot early in his career, then went into private Law Practice. He and Betty were faithful members of First Baptist Church, where he taught a Men’s Sunday School Class for many years, and later served as an usher. Buddy is preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Betty Britt and his son, Bradley Britt. He is survived by his daughter Penney Britt Malcolm, and his son in law, Jerry Malcolm, of Austin, Texas. He has two granddaughters, Meredith Malcolm, of Austin, and Leah Malcolm Spinder and her husband, Marc Spinder, of Montgomery, Illinois. He has two great granddaughters, Lily and Caroline Spinder, also in Illinois. He was dearly loved by his family, and will be remembered as a faithful and loving man, with a great sense of humor and a steadfast faith in God.
Graveside services will be 2pm Thursday, June 3, 2021at Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of East Funeral Home-Downtown.
