Betty Fern Lamon, age 85, of Texarkana, Arkansas passed away on Friday, May 5, 2023. She was born on August 9, 1937 in Dycie, Ar. She loved flowers and especially roses. She loved and was very fond of all her grandkids. She was known as "Aunt B" to many children that she cared for in the church nursery. Betty lived all over the United States with her husband James E. (Buddy) Lamon who was in the Army. Betty and Buddy were married 34 years before his passing. She never remarried.
She is preceded in death by her husband James E. (Buddy) Lamon; two sons Curtis Eugene Lamon and David Michael Lamon; four brothers Thomas William Bayless, Calvin Earl Bayless, James Wylie Bayless and Billy W. Bayless; two sisters Elvie C. Cabler and Barbara Ann Cottle.
She is survived by five sons and daughters-in-law, Jim and Tammy Lamon, Kenneth Lamon, Art and Sue Lamon, Paul Allen and Djana Lamon, Robert and Kim Lamon and David Lamons widow Sheila Lamon. One brother Lonnie G. Bayless; Numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and one great-great grandson.
Visitation will be 2:00 to 3 P.M. Tuesday, May 9, 2023 at East Funeral Home-Downtown followed by a graveside service at Oak Hill Cemetery in Ashdown, AR.
