Bobby Joe McMichael

Bobby Joe McMichael, 75, of Texarkana, TX passed away July 11, 2012 in a local hospital. Mr. McMichael was born January 26, 1937 in New Boston, TX. He was a member of First Baptist Church - Moores Lane; he was a retired firefighter where he was a training officer and was employed for 33 years with the Texarkana, TX Fire Department.

He is survived by his wife, of 55 years, Sarah Elizabeth McMichael of Texarkana, TX; sons and daughters-in-law, Jeral Joe McMichael and Mimi McMichael and Robert Timothy and Tracy McMichael; sister, Sue Parr; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Dale and Helen Sue Purifoy; grandson, Andrew McMichael; granddaughter, Elizabeth Joy McMichael; grandson and granddaughter-in-law, James Joseph and Kaitlin Elmore McMichael; step grandchildren, Jordan and Courtnee Rogers; and many nieces and nephews.

Services will be 2 p.m., Saturday, July 14, 2012 at East Memorial Chapel – Moores Lane with Rev. B. J. Smith officiating.

Burial will be in East Memorial Gardens under the direction of East Funeral Home – Moores Lane. Members of the Texarkana Fire Department will be pallbearers.

Family will receive friends from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., Saturday, July 14, 2011 at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Texarkana Humane Society.
