Brenda was a devoted follower of Jesus Christ and a faithful member of Mandeville Baptist Church. Her faith was more than words—it was reflected daily in her kindness, patience, and love for others.
She dedicated over 30 years of her life to education, retiring from Texarkana Arkansas Independent School District. Teaching was more than a career for Brenda—it was a calling. Her students adored her and always felt valued in her classroom. She had a unique gift for encouraging young people and helping them feel capable and confident. Many of her students have careers in education, inspired by the joy and guidance she shared.
Brenda treasured her family and cherished every moment with them, especially the time she spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also cherished her friendships, which were an important and lifelong part of her world. Her friends were like family to her, and she poured the same love, loyalty, and care into those relationships as she did into her family. She had a tender heart for all of God’s creatures and a special love for animals.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Shelly Longino; her mother, Johnnie Moore; and her father, Myron L. Hesterly.
Those left to cherish her memory include her beloved husband, Bill Beck of Ashdown, Arkansas; her son and daughter-in-law, Adam and Amanda Beck of Texarkana, Texas; five grandchildren, Brady Fant, Colton Fant and his wife Natalie, Hallie Patrick and her husband Ricky, Carter Beck, and Madelyn Beck; and two great-grandchildren, Lillian Fant and Greyson Fant.
Memorials may be made to Mandeville Baptist Church, Jeff Tarpley Rescue, or CASA.
A time of visitation and remembrance will be held for family and friends on Saturday, March 7, 2026, starting 10:30 a.m. at Mandeville Baptist Church, followed by a celebration of Brenda’s life at 11:00 a.m.
Brenda’s life leaves a lasting legacy of faith, love, service, and laughter—one that will continue to shine through her family, friends, students, and all who were blessed to know her.
