Calvin Eugene Grant

Mr. Calvin Eugene Grant, age 81, of Texarkana, Texas, departed this life to be with the Lord, Sunday, June 29, 2025 at Post Acute Michael Center, Christus St. Michael’s Rehabilitation Hospital. Mr. Grant was born October 9, 1943 in Key West, Florida to Claudina & Roy D. Grant. Calvin was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Georgina Grant-Only.

Calvin retired from the United States Navy as a Chief Petty Officer after 28 years of service. He was later employed at Treasure Island Naval Station, San Francisco Bay, California as a civilian employee for 7 years. Calvin and his wife, Mrs. Geraldine Hawkins-Grant both retired and made their home, Texarkana, Texas in 1996. After moving to Texarkana, Calvin accepted Christ as Lord and Savior, was baptized, united with Piney Grove Baptist Church and later ordained a deacon in 2004. As a member of Piney Grove Baptist Church, Calvin served the Lord as a Deacon, Sunday School Superintendent, Sunday School Teacher, Maintenance Director, Building Renovation Advisor as well as in any compacity needed. In February of 2024, Calvin decided to go back to his beginnings and united with Sacred Hearts Catholic Church, Texarkana, Texas.

Mr. Grant leaves to cherish his memories

Lovingly devoted wife: Mrs. Geraldine Hawkins-Grant, of 28 years

Daughter: Robinne Grant of Pontiac, Illinois

Three sons: Calvin Grant, Jr. and Jeffrey (Traci) Grant of Baltimore, Maryland;

and Michael Grant of North Carolina.

Step Daughter: Cynthia Stephens of Sicily, Italy

Step Son: Leonard (Jerald) Hawkins of Vallejo, California

Four grand-children and a number of relatives and friends

Celebration of life will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday, July 5, 2025 at East Funeral Home-Moores Lane.

Visitation will be 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. Saturday at East Funeral Home-Moores Lane prior to 11:00 A.M. service. Following service family will have a repass at Piney Grove Baptist Church, 83 Piney Grove Cir., Texarkana, TX. 75501
