Charles Lea “Charlie” Barfield, 54, died at his home Wednesday, August 19, 2020, after a hard-fought battle with cancer. He was born October 13, 1965 in Texarkana, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles “Red” and Leiuetta Barfield, and fiancé Lourdes Crarvajal.

He is survived by his brother and sister in law, Eddie Ray and Chestene Shuffield of Texarkana, Arkansas, three nephews, Reese Shuffield and his wife Stephanie of Texarkana, Arkansas, Mark Shuffield and his wife Cindy of Texarkana, Arkansas, and Clay Shuffield of Little Rock, Arkansas, one niece Wendy Norman and her husband Kevin of Texarkana, Texas, 13 great nieces and nephews, and many close lifelong friends.

Charlie was a fun loving, good natured man and loyal friend. He loved road trips, the outdoors, live music and horse racing. His nickname was “Ol Folk” because of his slowed down nature and mannerisms, which endeared him to his friends and family. He was known for sliding in late and slippin’ out early at family functions or parties, and too soon he leaves a hole in our hearts, where he will surely be missed most.

Graveside services will be held at 11AM, Wednesday, August 26, 2020 at Memorial Gardens Cemetery, HWY 67 North Texarkana, Arkansas, with East Funeral Home officiating.

To the Family I am sorry for your loss and you will be in our prayers. We saw Charles Barfield at the window tint place, when my husband got his truck done and talked a bit. I pray for peace and love for you all.
I was Johnny Browns first wife.
