I just learned of his passing 2 wks after. I am sincerely sorry & this blindsided me tonight. I had no idea. I’ve known him since Minton’s Sportsplex but even at the water park. He always had a smile on his face & greeted everyone. It’s like he related to every customer that came in. He remembered us. He would ask how everyone was. It’s really sad to hear this but I know he’s super happy in heaven now! Prayers for his family!! 🙏🏻

Darrell was a good friend, an outstanding giver to the Texarkana community and a constant living example of loving others!
Through the 20+ years of knowing him and working with him, I observed hundreds of times he gave of himself to teach, uplift and encourage. I am one of those he encouraged on a regular basis. We became friends during one of his many classes and enjoyed years of producing together swimmers, lifeguards and instructors.
Darrell has touched lives in various cities and states that have spread all over the world to repeat the process! He will be remembered by all as a great gift to improve others lives. I am proud to be one of the many! He will not be forgotten!

Darrell was one of a kind. I met him while employed at Turners. He often visited and always came in with a smile and made everyone laugh. He will be missed.

I worked for Darrell at Minton’s years ago. He has always been my favorite boss and probably always will be. He had an amazing passion for teaching young adults the value of hard work and reminding them of their capabilities. Even after I stopped working for him, I would still text him for advice over the years. Darrell always made you feel like a member of the family, whether you were working for him or not. I’m really going to miss seeing him in those bright colored tank tops he always wore. I swear he had a color for each day of the week! Darrell, my friend, you were such a wonderful man to work for and be friends with. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for everything. I’ll miss you, RIP.

Darrell has to be one of the kindest, gentle, humble and most genuine souls I have ever known. I never met a person who had a negative word to say about him. A man with such character is difficult to find in this crazy world. You will be missed by so many my friend ❤❤❤
