

Dean-O was born April 19, 1949 in Clarksville, TX. He was a member of Oaklawn Baptist Church and was retired from Red River Army Depot. He was a disabled Vietnam veteran. Dean-O volunteered for two tours of duty and earned four bronze stars for valor during his service and was active with various community veteran organizations.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James Horace Townes and Lona Mae Townes, and a brother, Dale "Red Dog" Townes.
Survivors are his wife, Judy Townes of Texarkana, TX; two step sons, Brandon Sams of St. Petersburg, FL and Aaron Sams of Texarkana, AR; one grandson Aaron "Layne" Sams of Texarkana, AR; three sisters and a brother-in-law, Jimmie Carolyn and Ray Gene Suggett of Texarkana, AR, Martha Gail Hale of Texarkana, TX and Brenda Maxey of Texarkana, AR and one brother, Bruce Townes of Balch Springs, TX; plus a number of nieces and nephews.
He is also survived by his loving extended family, his brothers in the Banshee and Black Hawks Motorcycle Clubs.
Graveside funeral service will be 2:00 P.M. Tuesday at East Memorial Gardens under direction of East Funeral Home-Moores Lane.
Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 P.M. at East Funeral Home-Moores Lane.
