Edward Allyn Bird

Edward Allyn Bird, went home to be with the Lord on March 20, 2026 surrounded by the love of his family. Born on November 15, 1958, in Painesville Ohio, Ed lived a life devoted to service and community.

As a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corp, Ed served his country with honor and integrity as a Field Radio Operator. He received the following decorations, medals, badges, and ribbons: Meritorious Unit Commendation, Good Conduct Medal, Sea Service Deployment Ribbon, Rifle Marksman Badge, and Pistol Sharpshooter Badge. After his career in the Marine Corp, Ed spent his time helping those in need weather it be dropping trees or providing good company.

He is survived by his wife Shelia, his son, William, and his brother Jim, Jim's wife Jan, and their daughter Katie. Also included in his children, Tony, Darrell, Amanda, Megan, and Lindsey. Along with 30 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Everyone he met, he immediately considered family so the list is endless. Ed's legacy of service, humility, and compassion will continue to inspire all who knew him.

Celebration of Life Service will be 2pm Saturday, April 18, 2026 at Friendship Baptist Baptist Church, 498 Highway 160, Doddridge, AR.

Cremation is under the direction of East Funeral Home-Downtown.
