Elizabeth Hargon Cook, 91, of Texarkana, TX passed away February 4th, 2020 at Cornerstone Retirement Community. Betsy was born January 30th, 1929 in Demopolis, AL, and remained a true Southern Belle, despite having lived in multiple cities across the US. In every community in which she lived, Betsy found a way to give back, including her involvement in WIRES, a women’s crisis center in Houston, and the Big Canoe Chapel. For Betsy, family came first and she was a wonderful grandmother, mother, wife, and sister who was loved by all and will be missed.

Betsy is preceded in death by her husband, James L. Cook Jr.; mother and father, Elizabeth (Missy) and Charles Hargon; and her sister, Ann Harbour. Survivors include brother and sister-in-law Geron and Louise Hargon of Baton Rouge, LA; son and daughter-in-law Yates and Helen Morgan of Texarkana, TX; daughter and son-in-law Amy and Pat Galvin of St. Louis, MO; son and daughter-in-law James L. Cook III and Landa Cook of Bayou Vista, TX; daughter Sydney Bentz of Flower Mound, TX; grandchildren; Geron Morgan and husband Shaun, Chad Morgan, Maj Morgan, Elizabeth Galvin, Ford Galvin and wife Kristin, George Galvin and wife Celia, James Lanham Cook IV, Ellis Cook, Laura Bentz Powledge and husband Aaron, and Charles Bentz; great grandchildren Ellie Grace Galvin and Ford O’Neill Galvin Jr.

There are no services planned. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Broyles Mission Conference at 10455 Big Canoe, Big Canoe, Georgia 30143-5125.

Cremation arrangements are under the direction of East Funeral Home-Moores Lane.
