Eugene Fields

Eugene Fields, 89, of Texarkana, TX passed away January 3, 2013 in a local nursing home. Mr. Fields was born May 19, 1923 in Hooks, TX. He was a member of Buchanan United Methodist Church; a U.S. Army veteran of WWII; and retired from Red River Army Depot.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Cecil Fields; and two brothers, Lloyd Lee Fields, Jr. and James E. “Pete” Fields.

Survivors include his son, Michael E. Fields and wife, Lisa of Cypress Mill, TX; daughter, Vicki Avery and husband, Louie of Texarkana, TX; granddaughters, Leigh Teague and husband Robbie of Texarkana, TX and Tessa Fields of Cypress Mill, TX; grandson, David Avery and wife, Lyndsey, of North Little Rock, AR; and great-granddaughter, Tori Griffin of Texarkana, TX.

Graveside service will be 3 p.m., Saturday, January 5, 2013 at Hillcrest Memorial Park with Rev. Wayne Welborn officiating. Burial is under the direction of East Funeral Home – Downtown.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, January 4, 2013 at the funeral home.
