

Gladys Smith Cooper, 93, of Wilton, AR. passed away January 10, 2014 at a local nursing home. Mrs. Cooper was born November 1, 1920 in Dallas, TX. She was a retired book keeper in construction. She was a member of Central Christian Church in Texarkana. Past member of Women in Construction, Eastern Star and was a wonderful member of the Central Christian Church Choir.
She is preceded in death by her husband Horace Cooper and a son Edwin Cooper.
Gladys is survived by one daughter and son-in-law Rita and Barry Whetstein of Wilton, AR; one son and daughter-in-law Hal and Beth Cooper of Russelleville, AR; two granddaughters Mindy Cooper of Fayetteville, AR and Jennifer Hale of Hunt, TX; four grandsons Brian Whetstein of Ashdown, AR, Hal Cooper Jr. of Russelleville, AR., Lee Cooper of Bentonville, AR., Clayton Cooper of Oklahoma City, OK.; four great grandchildren Sarah Cooper of Bentonville, AR, Chase Cooper of Fayetteville, AR, Devon Schneider of Hunt, TX. and Paige Hale of Cypress, TX.; one special care giver Mattie McCoy of Texarkana and a number of special nieces and nephews.
Graveside funeral service will be 1 P.M. Monday, January 13, 2014 at Chapelwood Memorial Gardens officiated by Rev. Michael Norfleet. Services are under direction of East Funeral Home-Moores Lane.
