Glenda Sue Elrod

Glenda was born February 7, 1961 to Aubrey Glendale Young and Linda Young in Oakland, California. Glenda was the best big sister to her three brothers and one sister. Todd Young, Debbie Carr, Michael Brosius, and Mark McDaniel.

Glenda married the love of her life William “Mike” Elrod on May 7, 1983 after a chance encounter as Glenda worked at Owens jewelers in Texarkana, and Mike came in to “buy jewelry”. Mike and Glenda have four children together, Jeff Elrod, Lora Doss and her spouse Tracy, Brooke Davidson and her spouse Darren, and Brandon Elrod. She is also survived by her mother Linda Brosius. Glenda spent her life devoting herself to Mike and her children whom she loved with everything she had. Glenda’s children gave her seven grandchildren, and one great grandchild who knew her as Mimi. Justin Elrod, Taylor and Zach Moore, Kristen and Daniel Bryan, Bryan Doss, Reagan and Reese Davidson, River Elrod, and great grandson Gunnar Elrod.

Glenda was a wonderful woman who was loved, cherished and will always be missed. Glenda’s children, grandchildren as well as a number of nieces and nephews where her heart and joy. She wasn’t shy of telling anyone she met how proud she was of her “babies”.

Loved ones who greeted Glenda into Heaven on the day she left this earth are her father Glen Young, step-father Dick Brosius, Father in Law Odell Elrod and step sister Kathy Wright. This Earth definitely doesn’t shine as brightly without our Mama and Mimi here with us, but we have no doubt that she is rejoicing in Heaven with our loved ones who have left us. She will continue to guide us in our daily lives until we meet again.

Family will receive friends from 6 to 8pm on Tuesday August 15, 2017 at East Funeral Home-Moores Lane.

Funeral service will be 10am Wednesday, August 16, 2017 at East Memorial Chapel-Moores Lane with Rev. Wallace Edgar officiating.

Burial will be in Memorial Gardens under the direction of East Funeral Home-Moores Lane

Family will be at 432 Whippoorwill Lane, Wake Village, TX.
