Jim was born in Texarkana, AR on February 14, 1962 to Dr. & Mrs James C. Burroughs. He graduated from Texas High School where he enjoyed getting up at the crack of dawn to practice for swim team. He went on to graduate from Hendrix College followed by studies abroad. He was fluent in French and Spanish. He particularly enjoyed his time in Dijon, France as well as the south of Spain. Chatting with people was his biggest delight until the birth of his daughter, Sara Jayne. (Of course, he loved to talk to her too).
He loved the outdoors, fishing, skiing, and travel. He was generous, kind and full of mirth as well as a great cook. He will be missed by his family and friends.
He is survived by his daughter, Sara Jayne Burroughs, his sister, Elsa Fritts (Arthur) and brother, Oliver Burroughs, Aunt Ann Evans as well as numerous delightful cousins.
Services will be held at St. James Episcopal Church, 417 Olive St, Texarkana, TX on May 14 at 1 pm. His ashes will be interred at Little Rock National Cemetery at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the American Heart Association will be greatly appreciated.
