James "Jim" Geiger, 72, of Texarkana, AR passed away November 18, 2010 at his home. Mr. Geiger was born December 31, 1937 in Huntington, AR. He was retired from Wadley Regional Medical Center as Director of Radiology, after 27 years. He was a veteran of the U. S. Navy where he served on the USS Toledo as well as a veteran of the U. S. Air Force where he served with the 188th Fighter Squadron. Mr. Geiger volunteered for many years with Opportunities, Inc., Prison Ministries, and Running W.J. Ranch.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Judy Peters Geiger.
Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Lacy and Scott Smith of Little Rock, AR; daughter, Jami Johnson of Texarkana, AR; and son-in-law, Tommy Johnson of Texarkana, AR; sisters, Ruth Ralls of Forth Smith, AR, and Donna Crelia of Huntington, AR; brother, Bobby Coplin of Huntington, AR; sister-in-law, Faye Geiger of Mena, AR; grandchildren, Judi Brainerd-Sams of Bryant, AR, Emily Ann Smith of Little Rock, AR, James Marshall Johnson, Madison Claire Johnson and Thomas Geiger Johnson all of Texarkana, AR; great granddaughter, Grace Ellen Sams of Bryant, AR; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Memorial Service will be 2 p.m., Saturday, November 20, 2010 at First United Methodist Church,AR with Rev. Bruce Bennett and Rev. Vicky Stephens officiating. Services are under the direction of East Funeral Home - Downtown.
Family will receive friends prior to the memorial service Saturday, at the home of Jami Johnson, 3502 Jack Cullen, Texarkana, AR.
