

Janann Gleason passed away Sunday, July 28, at the age of 94. She was born in Dardanelle, Arkansas on August 30, 1929. She was preceded in death by her brother Jack Gleason, sister-in-law, Lessie Gleason and nephew, Jay Gleason.
Janann grew up in Texarkana, Arkansas. She attended Arkansas High School and the University of Arkansas where she was a member of Chi Omega sorority. She owned and worked in the family business with her brother at Union Supply. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Arkansas, May Dale Garden Club and the Ladies Golf Association.
She loved playing golf and fishing. She played in many tournaments and caught countless trophy fish. She was involved with the North American Bluebird Society. She put up many bluebird boxes for numerous people. She traveled with friends to bluebird conventions across the country and Canada. She had a special place in her heart for all animals.
She is survived by her niece, Jan Gleason Davis and her husband, Michael Davis, great nephew and niece, Tommy Dixon and Ashley Dixon, and cousin, Beth Lamon.
She was a sweet, fun, loving woman. She had many good friends and will be missed by all.
A graveside service will be 11am Saturday, August 3, 2024 at Hillcrest Cemetery with Rev. Jaimie Alexander officiating under the direction of East Funeral Home - Downtown.
Memorials can be made to Texarkana Animal League, Texarkana Hospice or a charity of your choice.
Friends are welcome to come to the Gleason home on 2016 Beech after the service.
